man in his 20s laughs as his fiancee hugs him and smiles at the beach in connecticut during an early spring engagement session with Kristyn Miller Photography

late fall engagement session in fairfield:

callie + matthew

So big-time confession here. Callie and Matthew already got married. I was there! I even blogged about it (Callie + Matthew)!

This sweet little late fall engagement session in Fairfield happened way back when in 2018 – legit it feels like at least three lifetimes ago. But it was such a magical evening (perfect sunset, adorable lovers) that I had to share it. Yes, even a year and a half later.

We headed out to Sasco Beach — my favorite local beach for sessions — for this late fall engagement session and I’m pretty sure it was single digits. The upside? We had the beach totally to ourselves. We walked, and danced, and told bad jokes (ok, I told the bad jokes) and ignored the freezing weather for the gorgeous view and glorious evening.

I love engagement sessions – it’s a chance for me to get to know you before your wedding day, in front of my lens and otherwise. Although I spend a ton of time learning your story and learning what’s special about the day you have planned, an engagement session gives us the chance to just hang out. There are so many options for where to have your engagement session too – maybe it’s at a brewery followed by a walk around the neighborhood, or it’s at the beach taking in the ocean views, or maybe it’s wherever you call home and we’re documenting your saturday morning routine. It doesn’t have to be fancy, it just has to be comfortable for you and your beloved.

For Callie and Matthew, comfortable meant a walk on one of her favorite beaches! The water was such a beautiful part of their wedding day too – from getting married at a church just blocks from the sound to a reception right on the water in Greenwich. Now that I’ve watched these kids get hitched, I can tell you three more things for sure: they’ve been together forever (7 years, going on 8 now), they still absolutely adore one another, and they can actually party like rockstars.

Getting married in Connecticut soon? I’d love to hear about your wedding-day vision! Let’s chat!
