the story behind the studio
I’ve always wanted to have a space where creatives and entrepreneurs could gather – creative women especially – and make art. I wanted to create a space where I could work and shoot (everything from products to people), a space that I could open up to my local community and fellow creators too. I wanted it to be easy to work in, warm and inviting, and accessible to all – with good natural light and a little bit of quirk too.
The name Kindred comes from the idea that we’re all connected, and that creative work helps us uncover those many connections we have to one another. Kindred is tucked into the heart of downtown Black Rock, Connecticut, a thriving waterfront community with delicious food and amazing creativity. It’s currently home to my photography and coaching work, and I know it will become one of my favorite spaces to gather with other creatives. Many thanks to the design gurus at The Bananaland for the branding for this special space.
Kindred is available for hourly studio rentals for photography, video, and intimate events.
