wedding photography

Let’s get to it, Loves.

why weddings matter

I get asked all the time why I shoot families AND weddings, and here it is: for me wedding work IS family work. The moments that move my heart most on a wedding day are the same moments that move my heart most when capturing a family at home. You don't need epic backdrops or posed perfection for the day to be magnificent. I'm after connection, intimacy - and mostly, I'm after your truth. Let me be a witness to the soulful, unposed, real-life version of yourselves with the people you love, and I will prove to you that it is magical and powerful, just as it is, and just as you are.
If you're looking for a photographer to capture something posed, I'm probably not the one for you. If you're looking for someone to help you savor those real, connected, take-your-breath-away-at-their-simple-loveliness moments, let's chat. I celebrate and welcome people, partners, and families of all kinds, colors, religions, and abilities.

who you are

  1. you want to remember the magic of candid, unexpected moments of your wedding day
  2. you care deeply about the people you're gathering together
  3. you want to remember what it felt like on your wedding day, not just what it looked like
  4. you want images of family and friends together, but don’t want the perfectly posed photo
  5. you're creating a wedding day that celebrates everyone's presence, and care about being present
  6. you want photos of your day that capture the seen and the unseen
  7. you're planning a wedding day that reflects you and your beloved in your own unique ways
  8. you care about the details of the day, especially as your favorite people interact with them
  9. you want your day to be about your wedding, and not just about taking photos

what to expect

  • 01.

We’ll grab a coffee, have a taco, meet over a video call, or hop on the good ‘ole tellie (lbh, the latter two are more likely in covid times.) I want to get to know you and your beloved and find out what matters most to you about this season, and the day that you’re planning.

  • 02.

Book your date. Your wedding date is officially held with a signed contract and a 30% deposit.

  • 03.

Let’s get planning! In the months before your big day, we’ll have a few video chats, meet for a beverage or a meal, and you’ll answer a couple of painless questionnaires that will help me with the details I need to fully prepare to witness your day. If we’re shooting engagement photos together, we’ll find date and a location that feels great amidst all the planning. I’m here for anything you need, and I’ll coordinate with any of your vendors as needed as well!

  • 04.

After the big day: Your wedding images will be ready 4-6 weeks after your wedding and will be delivered via an online gallery. You can download them all, share them with your wedding guests, and delight in them over and over.

  • 05.

Print that magic! You can purchase prints, calendars, cards and other goodies in a multitude of sizes right from your image gallery or download and print on your own. Whether you purchased an heirloom album as part of your contract, or you wait until after your wedding day, we’ll get to this straight away! I can help with image selection if you need it, then I’ll design your album for you, and handle all the production. You’ll have it in-hand 4-6 weeks after your wedding images are ready. Your coffee table already loves it.

I have a range of collections to meet the various budgets and situations that come with celebrating your marriage. To learn more, inquire today via the button below and I’ll send along my wedding investment guide as a start to our conversation about your day and what matters to you and your beloved!

do you shoot elopements?

Absolutely! Drop me a line below to get started.

do you photograph same-sex couples?

Most definitely! Love is love is love. I’m here to celebrate you and yours, and I’d be glad to introduce you to my favorite vendors who will do the same, and then some.

will we have rights to our images?

Absolutely. The hi-res images I share in your engagement and/or wedding gallery are yours to keep and use and love forever.

how long will it take to get our images back?

My typical turnaround time for engagements is 2-3 weeks, and weddings take 4-6 weeks.

can we purchase prints and stuff?

Definitely. You can purchase archival quality prints, calendars, cards and other goodies in a multitude of sizes right from your image gallery - and so can all your friends and family!

do you shoot with a second photographer?

I shoot most of my client's weddings solo, but can easily bring on a trusted colleague if the logistics of the day require an extra set of hands and eyes.

can you shoot family portraits, even though they aren't as candid?

Definitely. While I don’t share these images on my site, I’m happy to shoot them on a wedding day! I’m an efficiency ninja when it comes to family and group photos - we’ll work together to make that process as painless as possible, and get everyone back to the party still smiling in no time!

can you help us put together our wedding day timeline?

Of course! We'll look at all the things you're hoping to include in the day's schedule (for images and otherwise) and we'll craft a flow that works for your vision.

do you Photoshop?

As I tell all my clients (yep, brides, new moms, whole families...) my goal is to make space for you and your loves to enjoy the best versions of yourselves in that moment. I don't head swap or photoshop – because I really believe you (and your loves) are gorgeous just as you are! The editing I do is more about making sure skin tones look as lovely as they do in real life and the textures of our session setting really come alive.

kind words from a lovely couple

We cannot put into words how happy we are to have worked with Kristyn to capture our wedding day. Kristyn was the perfect photographer to capture that spirit. Beforehand, she communicated with us regularly to make sure she understood what was important to us. She took the time to get to know us and on the day of our wedding nothing felt forced or awkward. It felt like working with a friend you’ve known forever. Our images are nothing short of amazing and we will cherish them forever. They capture genuine emotion and bring tears to our eyes as they transport us back to that special day. Cannot recommend her enough!
