fall wedding in massachusetts

lauren + tom

It’s always amazing to me to see how each of my couples chooses to celebrate their wedding day – making it uniquely their own in a million different ways. Lauren and Tom’s fall wedding in Massachusetts was such a wonderful example of this – from exchanging their vows in front of a small group of friends on the town green to hosting a super chill dinner party at their favorite local restaurant – they totally did their wedding their own way.

I met the lovely bride Lauren through her wonderful sister Faith. Faith is a dear friend from my local creative community whom I’ve photographed before for her flower wizardry with Bridgeport Blossoms – and when she called to see if I was free to capture Lauren and Tom’s day, I couldn’t say yes fast enough!

We started the day in a hotel room not far from the town green where Lauren and Tom were to exchange their vows – along with her mom, her grandmother, and Faith. We had the prettiest view of the fall colors from that fourth-floor window! After a special Lemonciello toast (from a family producer in Italy!) Lauren hopped in my car and we drove to her house to meet up with Tom. Nothing like having a bride in the front seat!

Lauren and Tom wanted to see each other before their ceremony, and they wanted it to be super low-key. I’m all for it – first looks don’t have to be super staged productions! It’s the only time in your life when you get to see your beloved for the “first” time as you prepare to get married, and it’s so important that you feel comfortable to be yourselves! We took a walk down to the nearby lake for some of my favorite photos of the two of them just taking in the views together.

Their ceremony was short and sweet and full of joy, and after taking in all their friend’s and family’s love, off we went to the Red Raven for noms and grown-up beverages. They made this reception all their own – from the laptop DJ to the ridiculously delicious (and seemingly endless) handcrafted potato chips, it was definitely a night that reflected who they are.

No matter how you choose to get married, making the day all your own is so important. I loved capturing this fall wedding in fall wedding in Massachusetts for Lauren + Tom, and I’m so happy for them!
